About the toolkit

This toolkit is your go-to resource for implementing Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in your teaching and learning environment. It includes 24 separate guides, tools, and templates designed to help you apply essential UDL principles to key areas such as learner variability, fostering engagement, setting effective learning goals, designing accessible and inclusive activities, and assessing learning. With this toolkit, you can gradually and independently integrate UDL into your current teaching practices, step-by-step, providing you with a blueprint to achieve greater access, inclusion, and equity in your classroom.

This toolkit will help you to implement UDL approaches to instruction through a learning design framework known as the ‘Roadmap for Teaching’, introduced in my book Delivering Inclusive and Impactful Instruction. The Roadmap for Teaching is unique in that it is one of few instructional design frameworks that intentionally addresses the role of feedback in instruction, a critical element not explicitly addressed in most other design frameworks.
